MECA BACK & ABS! A Healthy Solution to Back Pain & Core Strength
Research shows that over 85% of American’s experience low back pain. Typically this is due to pattern overload and sitting at your desk with poor posture….like we all do at times!
This poor posture leads to TIGHT Chest Muscles, neck muscles, latissimus dorsi, hip flexors! Since these muscles are tight, the muscles in the opposite side of the body are weak and OVERSTRETCHED, especially the glutes, deep core stabilizers, shoulder stabilizers, and back extensors.
Due to this posture we often exhibit low back pain~ those tight hip flexors can pull on our lower lumbar vertebrae. Research also shows that clients with low back pain forget how to neurologically turn on their deep corestabilizers which support the low back!
So….I found a solution for training the CORE muscles with a new toy from Dr. Jeff Anderson, CSCS called the MECA: A Healthy Back Solution. A lot of my clients experience low back pain and we have corrected a ton of these muscular imbalances in the core area, but their hip flexors constantly seem to do too much work while doing core exercises like crunches.
